There are few things better than fresh, ripe fruit. From eating summer watermelon on the back porch to crunching into an apple fresh-picked off its tree, some of our best food memories involve fruit. After all, there’s no better way to satisfy your sweet tooth while simultaneously staying healthy.
And though we love them all, we do prefer some types over others — as we’re sure do you. So, as we have a particular affinity for subjective rankings, we’re presenting you with a list of the best fruits. Although we hope there are some obvious placings (because honestly, we’ve never met a person who prefers honeydew over watermelon), let us know in the comments if there are rankings you’d like to dispute.
-
Red Delicious Apple

GettyWe’re unsure of why anyone would choose this waxy and mealy apple when there are so many better fruits out there.

14 Red Grapes
-
GettyDefinitely the best of the grape varieties.

10 Pomegranate
-
GettyThese seeds make for a lot of work, but the payoff is grand.

9 Apricot
-
GettyWe love the flavor of this fruit — both fresh and dried.
